Saturday 11th.
Hectic day trying to tie off loose ends. We all expect to be off the venue Monday or part of Monday for Lock Down and the Venue is Opening soon. From the moments we have volunteers on hand we have to take care of them too and train them so anything we can do before this starts is welcome.

Last night when we left the venue at 7:30pm, Michele and I just looked at each other and marveled at the fact the weather was pleasant. Just nice. No overbearing humidity and heat. A sign of things to come. The reason why so many people are walking and some running along the Corniche these days in the morning is that in reality there is only three months in which it is possible to do this. The rest of the year the heat is so overbearing that no one goes out. But life is geared that way here. Inside I often need at least long sleeves and also at times another top to keep warm.

We helped security today by pretending to be journalists, broadcasters and photographers arriving at the venue. They operated the Mags and Bags, and wands as they will be doing it as of the 14th. Obviously though they will have to operate faster than what they did with us for this first exercise since 6300 accredited media will access this venue. We managed to get two people without accreditation through, someone managed to get a saw past security, a hammer, a pocket knife and a few other items. Things will have to tighten up.

Anyway, that's all for today.
